Defence Member & Family Information Guide
The Defence Member and Family Information Guide is a comprehensive resource covering services, programs, and entitlements available to Defence families. It’s designed to help you understand the support on offer and make informed choices throughout your Defence journey. Hard copies are available from Area Offices or at local events, and you can also submit a request to receive a copy in the post.
Family Open Arms
Family Open Arms provides free and confidential counselling and support to current and ex-serving Defence families. With services tailored to partners, children, and relatives, Open Arms helps families navigate the challenges of Defence life, strengthen resilience, and access the care they need.
Defence Families of Australia
Defence Families of Australia (DFA) is the official advocacy body for Defence families, representing their views directly to Defence and Government. DFA works to ensure families are heard, supported, and considered in decisions that affect Defence life, while also providing resources and information to strengthen community connection.
ADF Family Health Program
The ADF Family Health Program provides free basic medical services and financial support for health care costs to eligible Defence families. Designed to ease the pressures of health expenses, the program helps families access the care they need to stay healthy and supported.
Defence Partner Info Hub
The Defence Partner Info Hub is a central space created by Military Life, offering practical resources, lived-experience insights, and support tailored to Defence partners. It’s designed to help partners feel informed, connected, and empowered to navigate the unique challenges and opportunities of Defence life.
